The Vodacom Blue Bulls Under-19 team will not only be looking to end a perfect season when they take on the MTN Golden Lions in the final of the Absa Under-19 Provincial Championship, they will also be keen to give coach Paul Anthony the perfect send-off.
The long-serving Anthony will move to Durban after a season in which his team has won all 13 matches they have played and will be looking for a clean sheet to round off a perfect season.
This will all count for nothing though if they fail at the final hurdle.
"We have played great rugby this season and the squad responded to every challenge that has been put to them," Anthony said.
"There is a definite drive from within the group that we can create something special in Cape Town and reward ourselves for all the hard work and effort that has gone into our season. The Golden Lions took us close twice this year, so we will have be spot-on come match time. This is a team full of very talented individuals though and they have showed a willingness to work for each other and that has proved a very good combination."
Hard-running fullback Jesse Kriel will lead the team at DHL Newlands in Cape Town.
The Vodacom Blue Bulls Under-19 team is: Jesse Kriel, Duncan Matthews, Daniel Kriel, Rohan Janse van Rensburg, Keagon Gordon, Kobus Marais, Juan Smith, Chris Massyn, Jean Droste, Heinrich Viljoen, Nicolaas Janse van Rensburg, Justin Basson, Dayan van der Westhuizen, Corne Els, Pierre Schoeman (v/c).
