The Vodacom Bulls outplayed the Jacquares to the tune of 21-12 in Pretoria on Saturday and head coach, John Mitchell, expressed his satisfaction with the squad’s performance against the South American outfit.
“The pre-season build-up has gone to plan, but we’re not finished,” Mitchell said.
“We have another trial next weekend and when we start the competition we must ensure we are ready to go.”
The Vodacom Bulls have a bye next weekend and then play the Hurricanes at home on 24 February.
Against the Jauquares at Loftus B, the Vodacom raced into an early 14-0 lead.
Winger Andell Loubser scored the opening try from a kick-pass by fullback Manie Libbok, before Marco van Staden burrowed his way over from a line-out drive.
Early in the second half a beautiful pass from Pollard put Kriel into a gap, with the midfielder throwing a dummy to beat the first defender before putting Warrick Gelant away for a well-worked try.
Julian Montoya and Javier Ortego Desio scored for the visitors.
