The Vodacom Blue Bulls U21 team continued their dream season as they emerged from their SA Rugby U21 Championship semifinal with an emphatic 83-17 victory over their Toyota Free State counterparts to remain unbeaten.
Looking back at the regular season, it is easy to see why the U21s made it to the final against DHL Western Province U21. The junior team topped the log with the maximum points as they scored bonus points in all seven matches.
Attacking rugby was the order of the day as they ran in 59 tries while kicking 47 conversions and 11 penalty goals. Speedster Xolisa Guma scored 11 tries to top the try scoring list while Tinus de Beer scored a try and kicked 27 conversions and 11 penalty goals as he cemented himself as the top points scorer after the semifinal.
The Vodacom Blue Bulls now look towards the SA Rugby U21 Championship final against DHL Western Province U21 in Durban this coming Saturday. They scrapped through against the same opponents earlier in the season but a winning momentum and consistent team selections are an added bonus in their arsenal.
All in all, the team has no intentions on ending the season with anything but an eighth win on the trot and if their season is anything to go by than supporters will have a spectacle on their hands.
