The Vodacom Blue Bulls Under-19 team suffered a second loss in the SA Rugby Under-19 Provincial Championship on Saturday, losing 24-12 to the Toyota Free State in Bloemfontein.
The home side held a 14-0 lead at the break at Xerox Shimla Park.
It was a tight affair, especially in the second half, as the Vodacom Blue Bulls came back strongly and actually outscored the Free State two tries to one.
Free State opened the scoring with tries by Zinedine Booysen (scrumhalf) and Thinus Boshoff (wing), with both tries converted by flyhalf Lubabelo Dobela.
The second half saw a better effort from the Vodacom Blue Bulls, with tries by Werner Fourie (hooker) and JC Pretorius (flank), with one conversion by Theo Boshoff.
A second try by Thinus Boshoff and a penalty by Dobela proved to be the difference.
