The Vodacom Bulls and Vodacom Blue Bulls are looking for interns (voluntary) within the following departments:
- Strength and Conditioning
- Technical: Video, data and GPS analysing
Who is passionate and enthusiastic about their career and interested to gain knowledge and experience within a high performance environment, located in Pretoria.
The different roles will involve supporting the specific departments above within the High Performance division as well as working and interacting with all the professional players within the system.
Performance testing; functional movement screening of the athletes; Strength and conditioning services (individual & group sessions); Recovery and injury rehabilitation support; Monitoring of physiological, cognitive & maturation status of athletes; Assisting or developing athlete education workshops; Massage sessions for players; Stretching; Prehab and Rehab; Analysing of footage (matches; training; individual; positional); GPS tracking; GPS data storage; GPS data analysing etc.
These positions would ideally suit a Sports Scientist / Strength & Conditioning Coach / Technical Analyst / Physiotherapy Student / Massage Therapist who is looking to gain experience within an high performance environment. Students or prospective/aspirant employees on the mentioned fields/positions should apply.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities will be available & on-going education will be provided through the whole season; in which interns will work through an internship manual made up of monthly tasks/practical assessments as they fulfil their day to day tasks.
This is a voluntary role but pay will be given for any extra hours outside of the agreed hours. Successful candidates will however receive other fringe benefits such as match tickets, kit and apparel etc. The season runs from 22 January 2018 up and until the 28th of October 2018.
The intern will be required for 3 days a week (5-15 hours) however this is negotiable and we will adapt to suit the needs of each potential intern. This is a highly successful program.
Previous interns have gone on to paid full-time work, part-time paid roles have also been gained.
