He did not play in his favourite blue, but Danie Rossouw showed why he is so highly rated at international level at the weekend. He had an absolutely outstanding game for the Springboks against Fiji in the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand and not only scored a try, but created havoc with his bone crushing runs and great line-out play.
In short, Rossouw's performance was a fine example of how good Bulls players shape up at international level.
Rossouw, of course, has retired from provincial rugby and will join the Japanese club, Suntory, after the World Cup. Blue Bulls fans can only nod in approval to see one of the true sons of Bulls rugby showing the world how versatile and good he really is. Finally the world could see what was witnessed at Loftus Versfeld over many, many seasons.
