Three tries in your first match for a new team is one way to impress your teammates and coaching staff, but not only did Daniel Adongo contributed in such a way, he also excelled in general play and showed a good work ethic during the 80 minutes for the Vodacom Blue Bulls against a Cheetahs B-outfit on Friday.
The lock forward scored once in the first half of the clash and twice in the second off the back of strong line-out drives by his pack, but also covered the field in running good support lines.
The 22 year old Kenyan player has been a member of the Sharks Academy in recent years and has represented the Sharks at u.19, u.21 and Vodacom Cup level, playing in all 10 of the Sharks XV matches in 2011, scoring three tries. He was also part of the Sharks Super Rugby team that played in a pre-season tournament against the Stormers and Lions in Cape Town early in 2011. The Nairobi born player is equally adept playing at lock or loose forward and with his express pace, also played wing for the Sharks in age group rugby.
