Every new season brings new expectations and those who are expecting a big season from the Vodacom Bulls utility player seems to be on the right track. “Hougie” showed his class and zest for the upcoming season with a very polished display against the Toyota Cheetahs in Polokwane on Saturday.
The livewire scrumhalf was always dangerous around the edges and his sniping ability resulted in two tries to his team at a time that the game was calling out for someone to make a difference.
On defence, Hougaard again did not disappoint and showed good strength, while his hard work in the tactical kicking department clearly paid off, as he provided good support to Mornè Steyn.
