Please note that the following Rules will apply in all the ABSA Semi Finals and Finals matches of the ABSA Currie Cup - Premier and First Division, ABSA Under 21 and Under 19 - Section A & B Competition to be played in October 2011.
TO DETERMINE A WINNER IN QUARTER- FINALS, SEMI-FINALS AND FINALS
2.1 QUARTERFINALS
If scores are level after the scheduled time, the team that will proceed to the finals will be determined as follows:
2.1.1 the team scoring the most points within a 20 (twenty) minute extra time (10 minutes each way with a one (1) minute break), and if still level
2.1.2 the team scoring the most tries in the match, including extra time; and if still level
2.1.3 the team with the highest log position immediately prior to the semifinal match.
Note: Paragraph 2.1.1 will not apply to Under 19 Rugby
2.2 SEMIFINAL MATCHES
If scores are level after the scheduled time, the team that will proceed to the finals will be determined as follows:
2.2.1 the team scoring the most points within a 20 (twenty) minute extra time (10 minutes each way with a one (1) minute break), and if still level
2.2.2 the team scoring the most tries in the semifinal match, including extra time; and if still level
2.2.3 the team with the highest log position immediately prior to the semifinal match.
Note: Paragraph 2.2.1 will not apply to Under 19 Rugby
2.3 FINAL MATCHES
If scores are level after the scheduled time, the winner will be determined as follows:
2.3.1 the team scoring the most points within a (20) twenty minute extra time (10 minutes each way with a one (1) minute break); and if still level
2.3.2 the team with the highest log position immediately prior to the semifinal matches in that competition during the current season shall be the winner.
Note: Paragraph 2.3.1 will not apply for Under 19 Rugby
