The Vodacom Blue Bulls completed their Currie Cup fixtures for 2011 at Loftus Versfeld on Friday by smashing a hapless Leopards team 92-21 in a match that saw them score 14 tries, the most of their season.
Regular suspect Bjorn Basson scored a hat-trick and CJ Stander and Juandré Kruger a brace as the Blue Bulls finally clicked into gear and the promise they have shown only in glimpses this season.
The visitors were still in the game at halftime, but the second half was one way traffic as the Blue Bulls scored one terrific try after the other.
They now have to wait till Saturday, when Western Province play the Pumas at Newlands, to see whether the newly acquired momentum will be in vain or if they will qualify for the play-offs and meet the Lions at Coca Cola Park next weekend.
