The Final Stages of the Currie Cup with Voltbet
12 October 2012

This weekend we go into the final stages of the Currie Cup and it has been a very surprising Currie Cup season in dead. Defending champions the Golden Lions have stomped through the season and seen some great results to place them second on the log. The GWK Griquas surprised many supporters with their great performances claiming fourth place on the log. DHL Western Province are lucky to be sitting in third place due to five losses this season, followed by the horror of the Vodacom Blue Bulls tie at the bottom of the log with the Toyota Free State Cheetahs.

The Bulls pulled through last week with a win over DHL Western Province, 26-13. Keeping their hopes alive of avoiding the promotion/relegation match. The Vodacom Blue Bulls have always had a strong presence within the Derby and no one could have predicted their Currie Cup fate to hang in the balance with a game against defending champions the Golden Lions. A win along with some other outcome could result in the team making the play-offs which could be the comeback of the century. The Vodacom Blue Bulls are in luck this weekend, can breathe a small sigh of relief and lean on their Springbok players Zane Kirchner, Francois Hougaard, Mornè Steyn, Arno Botha, Jacques Potgieter, Juandrè Kruger and Flip van der Merwe who are all fit and available to play.

Despite this do-or-die clash for the Vodacom Blue Bulls who need a convincing win, the Golden Lions are ‘A for Away’ with a guaranteed spot in the semifinals. The Vodacom Blue Bulls handicap of -5.5 is the best bet in the entire world of sport this weekend and one that you don’t want to miss out on.

This game could swing anyway and rest assured we will all be glued to the screen, screaming for the Boys in Blue to play eighty complete minutes of superb rugby and bag a place in the semifinals.
