He played centre up until he was in st 9 and represented Namibia at under 12 as well as two years at under18 level.
He played Craven Week rugby in Port Elizabeth in 2000 as a centre, but in his matric year he was moved to number 8 and again represented Namibia at the Craven Week.
After school he went to Bloemfontein and was selected for the Free State under19 team as well as Namibia's under19 World Cup squad.
In 2003 he made his test debut for Namibia as a 20 year-old against Zambia and in 2004 he was one of Nam's stars in their match against the SA "A" side.
Jacques says the Griquas contracted him after the SA "A" match and he ended up playing for three years and in more than 40 games for the Griquas.
He was one of the heroes of Namibia's World Cup campaign in France in 2007 and immediately after the tournament he joined the French Club, Aurillac, where he played 28 consecutive matches for them.
