The 2008 anti-counterfeit program continues to be very successful and has made a major impact on the counterfeit market.

During the months from February 2008 till August 2008, 242 687 forged units will an estimated retail value of R54'338120 have been confiscated.

218 089 rugby related products have been removed and these products have an estimated retail value of more than R51'000'000.

Throughout the last couple of months numerous highlights were celebrated and this includes strengthening the relationships with anti-counterfeit policing agents such as Hennie Last (Brand Protection Services), Justicia Investigations and Pathfinder Corporation.

22 successful raids have been executed from May till August and Signet participated in a training workshop for SAPS detectives held at the Western Cape Commercial Branch in July. A number of representatives of other brands, including FIFA, adidas, BAT and Saralee participated in the workshop.

Raids were executed prior to the home test matches (Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria) and anti-counterfeit policing was provided in and around the stadium grounds on match day.

These counterfeit products have an estimated retail value of R16' 969 570.

ONGOING SIGNET ANTI-COUNTERFEITING ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

Management of policing agents
Ongoing gathering of intelligence
Use of informants
Weekly raids
Storage of counterfeit goods
Destruction of counterfeit goods, including provision of photos and destruction certificates
Submission of weekly reports detailing anti-counterfeit activities, and number and type of goods confiscated
Collation of information and statistics for Unions and sponsors
Preparation of affidavits for warrants
Cooperation with the SAPS Commercial Branches and local police in planning and executing raids
Attendance of raids and identification of counterfeit product
Counterfeit goods training workshops for SAPS and Customs officials
Education of supporters: articles and information made available to all Unions for use in print publications and on websites

4. Mense moet maar op die uitkyk wees, want as die sharks weer teen die bulle in 'n finaal verloor sal hulle dalk 'n counterfeit currie cup laat maak

6. Ek stem .. Dink net bietjie uit 'n ander oogpunt .. Volgens julle statistieke verloor julle rondom R 16 mil .. Na al die syfers en feite sou ek gedink het julle 'n oomblik gaan vat het en uitwerk hoeveel julle sou verkoop het as 'n trui sê nou mar R100 of R200 gekos het en nie R400 nie..

Plaas julle hou 'n "Poll" wat vra Wat beskou jy as te duur vir 'n egte bulls trui.. Die ondersteuners op hierdie site is eerlik en getrou julle sal 'n meer duidlike benadering vir die koste van die truie kry.. En buitedien Die mense wat die truie op die strate koop weet dat hulle 'n fake koop en sal eerder vir R100 meer 'n oorsproklike trui koop.

Ek het al gehoor dat mense sê die truie op die straat kos so om en by R100 dink net vir R200 sit jy elke ou op die hoek van die straat uit besigheid uit.. Dit dwing jou om 'n oorsproklike een te koop en is nie so duur nie. Twee vleë met een klap. Plaas julle stel net my aan.. hehe
