Blue Bulls say farewell to Raubie Raubenheimer
20 November 2008 (11:00)
It is with sadness and regret that we have to inform you that the former Northern Transvaal fullback Raubie Raubenheimer has died.
Raubie, who is the father-in-law of the late Louis Moolman, played in the number 15-jersey for Northern Transvaal during 1947 and 1948 and died in Centurion during the course of last week.
He was born on the farm Vyeboomvlakte in the Vryburg district in 1927 and has been a very keen sportsman since his childhood days. Raubie also played baseball for Tukkies and Northern Transvaal and his daughter Cora Moolman says that he played golf on every single Saturday till about three years ago.
The Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd would like to use this opportunity to send their sympathy to Raubie's family and friends in this extremely difficult time and we trust that the Lord will comfort you in the months and years to come.
But we also trust that this is not the end.
The Easter message, the message of Christ's cross and resurrection tells us that our enemy, death, has been beaten.
We must not transmute the Resurrection into a spiritual event. We must listen to it and let it tell us the story how there was an empty grave, that new life beyond death did become visible. Based on this, we trust that you will one day live alongside your father, friend, grandfather, colleague and teammate in God's presence.
