Bulls congratulate Proteas

The Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd as well as the Vodacom Bulls' coaches and the players would like to congratulate the Proteas on their record-breaking Test series win over world champions Australia in their own backyard.

The CEO of the Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd, Barend van Graan, lauds the achievements of Greame Smith and his team and he would like to use this opportunity to applaud the hard work done by Gerald Majola CEO of Cricket South Africa as well as coach Mickey Arthur.

"To complete a monumental nine wicket victory over Australia at the MCG to take an irrefutable 2-0 lead in the three-match series is a massive achievement in the world of sport and inflicting a first home series defeat for the all-conquering Australians in 17 years puts this colossal accomplishment in perspective," Van Graan said.

Vodacom Bulls' supporters are invited to congratulate the Proteas by sending an email to info@bluebull.co.za and we will see to it that it reaches the team.

13. Goeie naand al my mede Blou en anonieme familie lede

Daar is net twee redes waarom ek hier skryf.

Gister het ek 'n film gekyk, Buckets lists of so iets. Daar is 'n toneel daarin waarin Morgan Freeman aan Jack Nicholson (F.. hy's oud!) sê: "God will only ask you two things when you meet Him one day. Did you have joy? and, Were you a source of joy in the lives of those around you?"

Groetni

16. Goeie more Bulletjies en Bergbok.

19. Hello Ligblou

Vaderland tog.... Cheers hier ook dan.
Posted by bullsdaisy (Pretoria) Sunday, January 04, 2009 - 12:30

Posted by bullsdaisy (Pretoria) Sunday, January 04, 2009 - 13:53

Derick Hougaard shines in Leicester Tigers win

www.news24.com
Johannesburg - Leicester Tigers, in the absence of their coach Heyneke Meyer, who is in Pretoria because of serious family illness, on Sunday dramatically beat Bath 24-22 at Welford Road through two tries in the last 15 minutes by their England flank Tom Croft.

Former Bulls and Springbok flyhalf Derick Hougaard added the other 14 points for Leicester. Former Sharks Springbok Butch James converted two of Bath's three tries by Stuart Hooper, ex-Bok Peter Dixon and Joe Maddock and also kicked a penalty.

Outplayed in the first half, the Tigers produced a much improved performance after the break to snatch the victory at the death, thereby turning around the last-second loss to Bath in the Heineken Cup competition a few weeks ago.

MOOI SO DERICK / "LIEFLING"...!!

Meyer finished at Leicester?

www.news24.com
London - Leicester coach Heyneke Meyer's future with the English Premiership club has been called into question following a family illness which has forced him to return to his native South Africa.

Meyer headed home earlier this week and so missed the Tigers' fightback on Sunday which saw them beat title rivals Bath 24-22 after being 22-9 down at Welford Road, where forwards coach Richard Cockerill was in charge.

Leicester chairman Peter Tom conceded the situation "put a doubt" over Meyer continuing with the club he only joined before the start of this season following the departure of former Argentina coach Marcelo Loffreda.

"Both of Heyneke's wife's parents are seriously ill, and he has gone back to assess the whole situation," said Tom. "We are happy to give him all the time he needs, and I don't think you can speculate.

"At the end of the day, we accept the family is priority, and the best thing is that Heyneke supports his family."

Meyer has steered the Tigers into promising positions in both the Premiership and the European Cup and Cockerill, who could now remain in charge for the rest of January, said: "Heyneke left on Tuesday evening, but he planned the week and I have spoken to him throughout."

England flanker Tom Croft scored two tries for Leicester, the second in injury-time, while Derrick Hougaard kicked 14 points on a day when his fellow South African and opposing flyhalf Butch James starred for visitors Bath.

"We saved our best rugby until the end," said Cockerill. "You never give it up at Welford Road, and our players kept on playing. They have been very resilient all week, and the win is massive for us."

Reigning champions Wasps moved up into eighth place in the 12-team table after a 24-18 win at home to London rivals Harlequins at Adams Park.

Wasps coach Shaun Edwards had warned his side before kick-off that this month could make or break their season and they appeared to take those words to heart, going 21-3 up before Quins got back into the match.

Now Wasps fans will hope their side, who've turned peaking for the play-offs into an art form, can stage one of their customary late season revivals to put them in a position to defend their title.
