Log-leading Vodacom Blue Bulls u.21’s hoping to keep momentum

The Vodacom Blue Bulls u.21 coach Nico Serfontein made four changes to his table-topping side for Saturday’s clash against their southern neighbours, the Lions, at Loftus Versfeld.
Try scoring ace, Deon Helberg, returns after concussion, whilst a new halfback combination, fullback and captain completes the changes from the side that achieved a come from behind win over the Free State last weekend.
With regular pivot and captain, Marnitz Boshoff, being rested, JC Roos will don the ten jersey and take over the kicking duties, with Cornell Hess wearing the captain’s armband. Whestley Moolman will play at scrumhalf, with Danie Faasen rested, while Andries Coetzee moves up from the bench to replace the injured Justin van Staden at full back.
Vincent Koch will replace Franco Mostert on the bench, with Dalton Davies coming in for Coetzee in a five-two bench.
Blue Bulls coach, Nico Serfontein, said the high tempo of their matches and the double round of the competition have resulted in more players being used.
“We have used 33 players so far. There are much more rucks than previous years and that has resulted in more injuries to players,” Serfontein said.
He is happy that his side is picking up some rhythm, but warned against the threat the Lions pose.
“They are a good side and had some very close results going against them. We need to bring our A-game,” Serfontein said.
