Player of the Week – Travis Ismaiel
05 September 2011

The Vodacom Blue Bulls u.19 speedster Travis Ismaiel might not be in Pretoria long enough to know all the shortcuts in the Jacaranda city, but the important one – the shortest way to the try line – is one he is becoming very familiar with.

Ismaiel, who used to be a track star as Tygerberg High School and ran the 400 metres in 47.74 seconds, scored two tries in fifteen minutes on Saturday, as the Blue Bulls u.19 side romped home to a 32-24 win over the Natal Sharks.

He has now scored seven tries in seven matches and continues to impress with his great pace and finishing ability and is one of the reasons why the Vodacom Blue Bulls find themselves at the top of the Absa u.19 competition log.

Coach Paul Anthony expects the speedster to do well in rugby.

“Travis has been massive for us this far and is definitely showing the promise to go all the way. If he continues to work hard and stay fit and healthy, he will have a good career in rugby.
