Player of the Week: Arno Botha
04 July 2011

The Baby Springboks did not manage to win the IRB’s u.20 Junior World Cup in Italy last month, but Vodacom Blue Bulls player Arno Botha showed great promise and potential in leading the team.

Botha played in all the matches, captaining the side from the base of the scrum and showing a great appetite for making the hard yards and leading from the front.

This form in Italy has not gone unnoticed in the senior ranks and the new Director: Rugby, Heyneke Meyer, already indicated that the 19-year old player might be playing Currie Cup this year.

“We will be looking at blooding young players this year and Arno will be one of those players we will be looking at. He is big and strong and works hard, all attributes we are looking for,” Meyer said.
