Enzo Scarcella, the managing executive for marketing at Vodacom set aside a few minutes to speak to

Tell us about the Vodacom sponsorship

Vodacom is synonymous with rugby in South Africa and we are honoured to be associated with a sport that has always been at the forefront of South Africa’s sporting success.

The sponsorship of the Vodacom Bulls is a particular source of pride because of the team’s status as South Africa’s top rugby institution. The Blue Bulls Rugby Union has throughout South African rugby history produced some of this country’s greatest players at both provincial and Springbok level.

Vodacom signed on as the official sponsor of the Vodacom Bulls, Vodacom Blue Bulls and Loftus Versfeld in 2005, and we also support the development initiatives of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union through their “Vodacom Bulletjie” rugby.

As the greatest supporter of South African supporters Vodacom continues to be proud of its association with one of the most powerful properties in rugby.

Are you satisfied with the Vodacom Bulls' performance thus far in 2009's Vodacom Super 14 tournament?

The very reason we aligned ourselves with the Vodacom Bulls in the first place is because they reflect the same pursuit of excellence and professionalism that has become a hallmark of Vodacom. One can only commend them for their determination, passion and relentless attitude to remain South Africa’s leading rugby brand and one of the world’s most dominant teams.

For this reason, we know that the desire of management and players to succeed at the highest level is matched by that of Vodacom to remain at the forefront of innovation and excellence.

We are certainly proud of the passion they display in every game, and trust that the 2009 Vodacom Super 14, will close on a grand scale.

Do you think the Vodacom Bulls can win their play off matches?

I think we have a very good chance, I’ve got a felling we can win the tournament. We managed to beat the Crusaders at Loftus in 2007’s semi-final and I am confident we can do it again.

Are you a Vodacom Bulls supporter?

I am, and I will be there on Saturday.

Unfortunately I can’t wear my Bulls jersey, because I am going to be in the Presidential Suite.

Who is your favourite player?

Bryan Habana!

What other sports are you interested in?

I love sport and apart from rugby I have a big interest in soccer and Formula 1. When I lived in the USA I enjoyed following all the American sports.

Did you participate in sports when you were younger?

I am still playing soccer and when I was younger I participated in swimming and athletics.

What is your best sporting memory?

Probably the 1995 Rugby World Cup final. Friends and I watched the match on a big screen at the Johannesburg College of Education and afterwards we celebrated for hours on end.

What is your prediction for the upcoming test series against the British & Irish Lions?

I’d say 2-1 for the Springboks. It is going to be a very tough series but I believe we can clinch it.

If your were a Springbok selector, give us how your starting XV

You are asking met this on the Bulls website!

I go for Gurthrö Steenkamp, John Smit, Beast Mtawarira, Bakkies Botha and Victor Matfield as my tight five. My loose trio will be Schalk Burger, Heinrich Brüssow and Pierre Spies and I want Fourie du Preez at scrumhalf.

Ruan Pienaar is my flyhalf, with Jean de Villiers and Adi Jacobs in the midfield. Habana must partner JP Pietersen on the wing and I want Jaque Fourie at fullback.
