Marnitz Boshoff

The Vodacom Blue Bulls u.21 side have played awesome rugby this season and made the final of Absa’s u.21 competition. They face Western Province in the final of the competition next weekend in Durban.

One of the real heroes in the team this year, especially last weekend in the semi-finals of the competition against Natal, was their fly half and captain, Marnitz Boshoff.

The former Nelspruit resident only missed with one kick in his side’s 39-35 win and kept the Natal side at bay with a try and some very accurate tactical kicking. Boshoff has scored 154 points this far in the competition, but it is rather his ability to do the right thing during the big moments of the match that stood out.

He scored 184 points in the same competition last year and has showed that he will have a huge role to play in Blue Bulls sides of the future.

Blue Bulls kicking coach, Vlok Cilliers, also punted the young fly half. “He has got a good head on his shoulders. He is a natural kicker of the ball, but also works very hard on his kicking. It is a very good attribute,” Cilliers said.
