Everton FC could be visiting South African shores in July this year and have already paid a visit to Loftus Versfeld as a potential host venue. The management team from the Merseyside club was extremely impressed with the overall facilities and pitch in the 51 000-seater 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa host venue.

The Blue Bulls Company (BBC) team is excited about the prospect of hosting the English Premier League club, who currently occupy sixth spot on the table with four games to go.

Everton FC’s team of David Harrison (Head of Operations and Club secretary) and Michael Dunn (Risk Manager) said they were impressed with the facilities at Loftus Versfeld and expressed an interest in hosting a pre-season game in July at the stadium.

Hugo Kemp, BBC Operational Manager, said, “it’s always a pleasure having the opportunity to work with a huge international team, especially one that hasn’t been to Loftus Versfeld before.”

African players in the current Everton FC squad include South Africa’s Steven Pienaar and Nigeria’s Victor Anichebe.
