Vodacom has been named among some of the top sporting brands and organisations in South Africa earning no less than four nominations in three different categories for the 2015 Discovery Sport Industry Awards.
The telecommunications giant earned nominations in the Best Use of Digital Communications in Sport, Best Sponsorship of a Sport Event or Competitions and Sport Participation Event of the Year categories with the winners set to be named at the lavish event at the Sandton Convention Centre on 12 February 2015.
Vodacom is among some of the top brands to be nominated in multiple categories for the 2015 awards.
The award-winning Vodacom Rugby Stats App is among six nominations in the Best Use of Digital Communications in Sport category.
The Vodacom Rugby Stats App gives users access to 28 categories of statistics for individual rugby players – from passes and points to metres run and tackles made and has already been awarded Gold in the Most Innovative App category at the New Generation Social and Digital Media Awards in Johannesburg at the end of October.
In the Best Sponsorship of a Sport Event or Competition category Vodacom has been nominated for two of its campaigns with the Vodacom Durban July and the 2014 Vodacom SupeRugby in the running for a prize.
Finally, Vodacom Bulletjie Rugby has been shortlisted in the Sport Participation Event of the Year category where it will come up against six other nominated events.
Sponsorship agency Trinergy Brand Connectors has been at the forefront of all four of the nominated campaigns.
