Former Ricoh Black Rams flyhalf Louis Fouché has been named in the Vodacom Blue Bulls touring squad to Japan for their match against the Canon Eagles on Friday, 31 July.
Fouché played for the Japanese outfit last year and has been included in the 27-man squad that will travel to Japan on Friday.
Springboks Francois Hougaard, Arno Botha, Deon Stegmann, Werner Kruger, Dean Greyling and Bandise Maku are all amongst the travelling group.
Vodacom Blue Bulls coach Nollis Marais said the trip will be an important one for the squad
"This tour will help a lot with team building and should provide us with an ideal opportunity to work on a number of things, without the normal distractions at home. We showed some good signs in PE against the Kings, but I believe that the Canon Eagles will ask a few different questions and we need to adapt to that as well.”
"I am also keen to see more combinations in a match situation, so it will be important for us to get things going in that match."
The touring squad is:
Backs: Warrick Gelant, Kefentse Mahlo, Travis Ismaiel, Jamba Ulengo, William Small-Smith, Dries Swanepoel, Dan Kriel, Burger Odendaal, Louis Fouché, Tian Schoeman, Francois Hougaard, Ivan van Zyl.
Forwards: Hanro Liebenberg, Arno Botha, Deon Stegmann, Lappies Labuschagne, Roelof Smit, Jannes Kirsten, Marvin Orie, RG Snyman, Jacques du Plessis, Werner Kruger, Dean Greyling, Morne Mellett, Nqoba Mxoli, Bandise Maku, Jaco Visagie.
Stem saam oor Du Plesis.
Life is like a box of chocolates, you neve rknow what you gonna get.

Forwards: Kwezi Mafu (Eastern Province – Grey), Hacjivah Dayimani (Golden Lions – Jeppe), Johan Visser (Western Province – Paarl Gymnasium), Cobus Wiese (Griquas CD – Hoerskool Upington), Ruben De Villiers (Western Province – Paarl Boys High), Salmaan Moerat (Western Province – Paarl Boys High), Ruben Van Heerden (Blue Bulls – AHS), Ernst Van Rhyn (Western Province – Paarl Gymnasium), Ashwyn Adams (Western Province – Rondebosch Boys High), Cabous Eloff (Blue Bulls – AHS), Dewald Maritz (Pumas – Hoerskool Nelspruit), Carlű Sadie (Western Province – Bellville High)Johan Grobbelaar (Western Province – Paarl Gymnasium), Nico Peyper (Valke – EG Jansen)
Daar was so joke gewees.
HOU BY DIE BLOU MY VOLK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welldone Jessie!!!!!!!
Awesome game by Jesse Kriel. He and De Allende is starting to combine brilliantly. Pollard wull flourish if the pack divers quick retention
Better tactical kicking by the Boks 9, 10 and 15.
Brilliant scrumming as well.
In the lock department I think Lood had a exceptional game.
Our loose forwards worked well by bringing in Brussouw with Louw. We had them here. Lekker quick bal for Pollard.
For 68 minutes we were the best team.
Bok Negatives:
Although this will mean no points on the board for this coming World Cup, we lack momentum and experience to clinch a game against the top teams in the final quarter.
Our attack out wide is still being caught behind the advantage line. Whether it is Etzebeth, Burger or Habana as ball carrier, we are tackled back again and again there. We will need something different, maybe fron Pollard and surprise off load?
Ruan Pienaar kicked a turn over ball in the AB half yesterday. That happened in the 68th minute. After that we did not see any ball again. We had this game in the pocket.
It doesnt seem that the bench players are currently making any impact. This is a worryingfactor for HM
kies hom enige dag bo Habana of Pietersen op vleuel
Wonder of nuwe S15/18 coach volgnde jaar vir Jesse op 13 of 15 gaan gebruik...?
The Boks just need to sort out the final stages of the game and that is where leadership and coaching management will have to learn from these two tests. Maybe we are not champion-material for this coming world cup, but who knows - with a bit of luck we can cause an upset.
John Mitchell are very skilfull, but his player management skills, even after I read his auto biography, is not good at all. Nic Mallet? Mallet will not settle for any other job than Director of Rugby coaching. Dawie Theron does excellent with our junior Boks and I like him, but he still needs some senior provincial Superrugby as a head coach.
Selfs Ewin Mckenzie was genader.
