The Blue Bulls Rugby Union is saddened by the passing of Kosie Horn, who passed away Wednesday afternoon, 22 June 2016, at age 63.
Kosie was employed by the BBRU and SARU as referee coordinator.
Mr. Gert Wessels, president of the BBRU, said rugby have lost a great servant.
“Kosie was well-loved and respected and we lost a friend, referee, trainer and long-time servant of the game. He will be dearly missed and will leave a void in the halls of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union.”
Dr. Eugene Hare, CEO of the BBRU had the following to say about Kosie: “What stood out most about Kosie was the careful and promptly fashion he conducted himself and his duties with. His attention to detail was outstanding and he was always focussed on completing his tasks out perfectly. He was a true gentleman and someone you could always count on.”
Johan Schoeman, General Manager of Game Development said: “My colleague and friend. What a loss to rugby and our close community. We will miss him dearly for his diligence and professional conduct in the work environment, but most of all, his friendliness and comradeship.”
Jan Venter, BBRU Referees Manager commented as follow: “Ek het baie min mense in die lewe ontmoet wat so perfek en deeglik in hulle werk was soos oom Kosie en dit het almal rondom hom aangespoor om dieselfde te doen.”
The prayers, thoughts and hearts of the BBRU go out to his family, we know how much he loved and cared for his children and their families and we can only pray that they will be comforted in this difficult time.
The Memorial Service for Kosie will be held on Monday 27 June 2016 at Loftus Versfeld at 13h00. Parking will be available on the South Side parking by the B & C fields.
