Vodacom Blue Bulls depth boosted for Boland clash
The Vodacom Blue Bulls coach, Hendré Marnitz, on Wednesday named his team to play the Boland Kavaliers in a Currie Cup Qualifying match on Friday. The coach made one enforced change to his starting pack for the clash at Loftus Versfeld, with Andrew Beerwinkel replacing Mox Mxoli at prop. Mxoli has travelled with the Vodacom Bulls squad to Argentina.
Beerwinkel moves from the bench and Neethling Fouche will replace him as back-up prop for the match that starts at 19h00.
Marnitz boosted his bench by including two Junior Springboks recently returned from England.
Hooker Jan-Henning Campher and midfielder Franco Naude will be keen to show why they are age group internationals. Joshua Stander is also fit again and included on the bench. He takes the place of Alcino Isaacs, who will start in one of two changes in the backline. Isaacs replaces Dan Kriel (also in Argentina).
Marnitz promoted Ivan van Zyl to the starting berth at scrum half, with Andre Warner warming the bench.
The team is: Divan Rossouw, Kefentse Mahlo, Alcino Isaacs, Marquit September, Jade Stiglingh, Tony Jantjies, Ivan van Zyl, Hanro Liebenberg (c), Nic de Jager, Ruan Steenkamp, Abongile Nonkontwana, Ruben van Heerden, Entienne Swanepoel, Alandre van Rooyen, Andrew Beerwinkel.
