The Vodacom Blue Bulls head into their first bye of the Super Sport Rugby Challenge this weekend off the back of two convincing wins over the Welwitchias and the Hino Valke and a loss to the Steval Pumas.

The team is captained by 22 year old lock, Abongile Nonkontwana, and Captain Fantastic does not even begin to describe the St. Alban’s College old boy as the youngster, who is equally at home as a loose forward, has led the team with distinction showing a maturity as a leader that is well beyond his years.

Born in the windy city that is Port Elizabeth, Nonkontwana represented the Junior Springboks in New Zealand (2014) and Italy (2015) while domestically he has run out for the Vodacom U19, U21 and senior Blue Bulls teams.
