Joshua Stander has become a household name amongst supporters of the Vodacom Blue Bulls with the talented flyhalf making his Currie Cup debut in 2014, just a year out of school.

The 23 year old is a product of Queen’s College in the Eastern Cape with the Cradock born pivot forming a potent halfback pairing with former Vodacom Blue Bulls scrumhalf JP Smith at school.

Stander represented Border at youth level before moving up to Pretoria where he has been a stalwart for FNB UP-Tuks in the FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International competition and was part of the squad that lifted the trophy earlier this year.

Overall, Stander has represented the Vodacom Blue Bulls at U19, U21, Vodacom Cup, Currie Cup Qualifiers, Super Sport Rugby Challenge and Currie Cup level with just Vodacom Super Rugby duty left for him to tick off and with the reshuffling of flyhalves next year, that may come sooner rather than later.
