Super Sport Park once again played host to the Wings for Life World Run and the Vodacom Bulls were there along with their apparel sponsor, PUMA, to cheer on the runners who ran for global spinal cord injury research on Sunday, 7 May 2017.
The Red Bull “Wings for Life World Run”, now in its fourth year, is a global event that is held at numerous locations with the race starting at the same time irrespective of time zones. What makes this race unique is that the finish lines chases the runners in the form of a Catcher Car.
To illustrate how important this race is in terms of raising not only much needed funds but awareness of and for spinal cord injury research, in its first three years of existence the Wings for Life World Run has seen over 280000 people from 193 nationalities run more than 2.8 million kilometres across 38 countries with a staggering R204 million raised.
The Vodacom Bulls contingent consisted of Adriaan Strauss, Jason Jenkins, Lizo Gqoboka, Burger Odendaal, Jesse Kriel, Trevor Nyakane, Rudy Paige, Andre Warner, Francois Brummer, Jaco Visagie and Renaldo Bothma where the players interacted with fans and handed out medals to the runners as they returned to the stadium.
