The lock was a late starter to rugby, having only played his first match five years go, but his progress in the game has been spectacular. The lock excelled for the Junior Springboks in World Rugby's Junior Championships in Italy and was named as one of the players of the tournament. He picked up an injury shortly after returning to Pretoria, but was drafted into the playing squad as soon as he was fit and played two matches in the Currie Cup competition.
Much has been said about the lock factory in Pretoria and Jenkins will only add positive comments towards that with his performances, expecting to push him onto the match day squad.
