It has been a hard toil for the 25 year old prop from the Eastern Cape, who will be hoping to make his Vodacom Super Rugby just shy of his 26th birthday. Gqoboka has been invited to a number of Springbok training camps and had a short stint with the Cheetahs, but when the EP Kings ran into financial woes, the Bulls had little hesitation in snapping up the loosehead prop. Gqoboka represented the EP Kings at age group, Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup level and now gets a proper go at a place in the Bulls squad. A lively ball-carrier and a solid scrummer, much is expected from the new signing.
